Jessica Moss
Jessica Moss er en violinist og komponist med base i Montréal. Hun jobber med å forsterk og bearbeidet fiolin og stemme for å skape intrikate verk bestående av uttrykksfull elektronisk-, drone, eksperimentell og postklassisk minimalisme. Hennes særegne melodiske følsomhet kanaliserer ofte trekk som går igjen i sjangre som Klezmer, Balkan og Østeurpoeisk musikk. Hun har sluppet fire full-lengde album gjennom Constellation plateselskap. Etter 15 år i post-punk bandet ‘Thee Silver Mt. Zion’ begynte Jessica Moss å skrive og opptre soloverk under eget navn i 2014. Hennes debut album ‘Under Plastic Island’, selvutgitt, ble spilt inn med Guy Picciotto høsten 2015. Videre fulgte tre vellykkede album gjennom Constellation: Pools Of Light (2017), Entanglement (2018) og Phosphenes (2021) — alle tre co-produsert med Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart, Matana Roberts, Suuns). Hennes femte album ‘Galaxy Heart’ slippes høsten 2022. A Closer Listen har beskrevet Moss som en artist som “becomes her instrument and channels its harmonic power”; Loud And Quiet har kalt solo musikken hennes “inventive, powerful, deeply engaging, carrying real weight.” Moss has opptrådt omfattende gjennom Nord Amerika og Europa, inkludert opptredener på Big Ears, WSO New Music, Le Guess Who?, ATP, Supersonic, Transmissions and Basilic Hudson’ Soundscape og 24-HOUR DRONE festivals. Over de to siste tiårene har hun bidratt til tekster, arrangementer og opptak av artister som Carla Bozulich, Vic Chesnutt og Big|Brave, samt mange flere. Nylig skapte hun lydsporet til den prisvinnende dokumentaren Laila At The Bridge, komponerte og fremførte den originale live scoren for DUST av det Australske kompaniet DanceNorth, ble med Feist’s turnerende band, slapp plate med Roy Montgomery, opptrådte med Matana Roberts på Le Guess Who? og Donau festivals, og spilte på album av Sarah Davachi, Oiseaux-Tempete og Daniel O’Sullivan. Pål Asle Pettersen
Komponist og lydkunstner fra Stavanger. Har siden 90-tallet vært en viktig del av Stavangers miljø for eksperimentell musikk gjennom både eget kunstneriske virke, og konsertserien zang. Pettersen utforsker et musikalsk landskap der elektro-akustisk lyd og feltopptak blandes med popkulturelle elementer og improviserte strukturer.
Det siste tiåret har Pettersen primært arbeidet med større tverrkunstneriske samarbeidsprosjekter som scenekunstkompaniet Findlay // Sandsmark. Han har også nylig sluppet sitt åttende solo-album, Untitled II.

Jessica Moss is a Montréal based violinist and composer. She uses amplified and processed violin and voice to create intricate works of expressive electronic, drone, experimental and postclassical Minimalism; her distinctive melodic sensibility often channels Klezmer, Balkan and Middle Eastern tropes with an ear for textural grit and timbral noise. She has released four full length albums on Constellation. After her 15-year tenure in agitprop postpunk band Thee Silver Mt. Zion, Jessica Moss began writing and performing solo work under her own name in 2014. She self-released her debut solo album Under Plastic Island, recorded with Guy Picciotto, in the fall 2015. Three acclaimed albums on the Constellation imprint followed: Pools Of Light (2017), Entanglement (2018) and Phosphenes (2021) — all three co-produced with Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart, Matana Roberts, Suuns). Her fifth album Galaxy Heart will be released in the fall 2022. A Closer Listen has described Moss as an artist that “becomes her instrument and channels its harmonic power”; Loud And Quiet has called her solo music “inventive, powerful, deeply engaging, carrying real weight.” Moss has performed extensively throughout North America and Europe, including appearances at Big Ears, WSO New Music, Le Guess Who?, ATP, Supersonic, Transmissions and Basilic Hudson’ Soundscape and 24-HOUR DRONE festivals. Over the past two decades she has contributed to writing, arrangements and recordings by artists like Carla Bozulich, Vic Chesnutt and Big|Brave, among many others. Most recently she made the soundtrack to award-winning documentary Laila At The Bridge, composed and performed the original live score for DUST by Australian company DanceNorth, joined Feist’s touring band, released a record with Roy Montgomery, performed with Matana Roberts at Le Guess Who? and Donau festivals, and played on albums by Sarah Davachi, Oiseaux-Tempete and Daniel O’Sullivan. Moss is also a founding member of the avant- Klezmer quartet Black Ox Orkestar.
Pål Asle Pettersen (NO)
Pål Asle is a composer and sound artist from Stavanger. Since the 90s he has been an important part of Stavanger’s milieu for experimental music through both his own artistic work and the concert series zang. Pettersen explores a musical landscape where electro-acoustic sound and field recordings are mixed with pop cultural elements and improvised structures.
In the last decade, Pettersen has primarily worked with larger cross-artistic collaborative projects such as the performing arts company Findlay // Sandsmark. He has also recently released his eighth solo album, Untitled II.
